Pirates of Penzance

This version of The Pirates of Penzance look like they came right out of a storybook. They ran off to be pirates without really knowing how to be pirates and through there own research discovered these outfits in children stories. I carved out a stamp of what I thought their pirate flag symbol would look like and embossed it on a dyed crushed velvet swatch of fabric. The swatch for the Ensemble Pirate design was sprayed with color remover to mimic the effect of a sea water sun bleached look. Both of their outfits are tattered because they aren’t good at stealing from other they don’t have the means to buy or steal new clothes.
